About the Niigata Victim Support Center

The Niigata Victim Support Center is a non-governmental organization established in February 2006 to provide assistance to victims of crime and accidents, as well as their families and bereaved relatives. Our mission is to help those affected return to a peaceful and stable life as soon as possible.

In 2009, we were officially certified as a Public Interest Incorporated Association by Niigata Prefecture, strengthening the legal and social foundation of our activities. In 2011, we were designated by the Niigata Prefectural Public Safety Commission as an Early Assistance Organization for Crime Victims, enabling us to offer immediate support following a crime, with the victim’s consent.

Our services include telephone and in-person consultations provided by professionally qualified victim support counselors and trained staff, peer support groups, and accompaniment and support during court proceedings. In addition, we actively engage in public awareness and outreach activities to promote understanding of victim support throughout Niigata Prefecture.

We are committed to creating a society where victims are heard, supported, and empowered to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
